The Early Years

Already an established DJ in and around the Southampton area, Mike decided to venture into the new world of karaoke in February of 1991. The first venues to get their customers singing down his mic's were Clowns in Bevois Valley and Arc's club in Gosport. Every Monday night local students would belt out their favourite songs in Clowns nightclub, and every Friday locals in the Gosport area would come and have a fun night out with Mike. Whilst Mike only did a couple of months at Clowns, he stayed at Arc's for most of 1991.

"Things were a lot bigger in them days - And the hair IS mine!

Although the equipment and discs have got smaller some things HAVE got bigger (stomachs)

The next residency came at the Clay Pipe pub in Holton Heath, Mike took his big heavy box of karaoke discs and big television sets every Sunday for the locals and holiday makers alike. In between the regular spots, Mike visited many pubs clubs and village halls trying to find the new Tom Jones or Patsy Cline. (to this day I've never found them!). Mike is currently in his fifth year at The Red Lion, Totton, where he appears every Wednesday and Sunday. Come along and have some fun.

The equipment and discs back in the early years of karaoke were much bigger and heavier than the gear and discs we use today.

So that's where it all started, Mike is still mixing karaoke shows, disco's and quiz nights, and having many fun nights in and around the Hampshire area.
